What motorcycle can I take the A2 test on?

Which Motorcycles Are Eligible For The A2 Test?

If you are planning on undertaking your A2 test, your motorcycle must meet certain criteria in order for it to be used for your motorcycle test. These include having:

  • A capacity of at least 395cc
  • Engine power of between 20 and 35kW
  • A power to weight ratio of up to 0.2 kW/kg

You can pass your tests on a motorcycle with automatic or semi-automatic transmission, but remember that you will only get a licence for those types of motorcycles.

You can find a full list of bikes suitable for the A2 and A tests, by manufacturer and model on the DVLA website.  Click here to see the list in full.
